Just went and saw a pretty good old fashioned monster movie this morning called "The Host". For those of you who are looking for a good old fashioned giant monster movie this is your kinda flick. This film had the best CGI I have ever seen in a film....That is until some flame effects at the end but all in all the CGI was amazing. Im bot gonna go into the details of the movie as I think you all owe it to yourself to go and see it with no expectations.
This movie was made in Hong Kong and is subtitled so if you dont like subtitles wait for the DVD. Anyways as I said this is a great homage to the monster movies we all grew up loving. The only gripes I had were the pacing of a few scenes and some plot lines that were never explored enough for the audience to understand them. Its a great fun movie to waste the afternoon with and if your a giant monster movie fan this is a great throwback to all those great ones of the 50's, 60's and 70's.
They just dont make them like this anymore! At least not here in the US!
