I disagree heartily with the poster who mentioned "Jason X" as one of the three worst horror movies ever. Now, I admit, the tenth installment in the "Friday the 13th" series was corny and wierd, but it's nowhere near the bottom of the scale and is actually pretty decent entertainment (this is arguable, admittedly).
Worst horror film of all time? Well, it certainly ain't a "Friday the 13th" movie --- although "Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan" comes pretty close --- they're American classics.
The worst horror film of all times? "Pinochio's Revenge" (I wish I were making this up!)

Here are the first two that come to mind, and they both happen to be zombie movies:
"Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" - by the future director of "A Christmas Story." Anyway, it sucks, don't bother watching it. Good title, at least.
"Zombie Holocaust" - this was so bad I can't even remember what happened. Just dreadful, there must have been 3 zombies in the whole movie- the rest was filled with your customary awful dialogue & acting.
and a runner up: "Burial Ground" or "The Night of Terror." This loses points for: 1) Constantly ripping off Lucio Fulci without any shame 2) Having the stupidest & most unsypathetic heros ever. This movie has only two decent scenes- one involving a sickle & the other involving a nipple. I think it may also be known as "Zombi 3" which was mentioned earlier.
Also, one of the worst movies I have ever ever seen is "Twilight of the Ice Nymphs" - which was a huge surprise, since its director (Guy Maddin) has made some of the best movies I have ever seen. One of the most painfully terrible flicks I've watched. Instead, you should just watch "Tales from the Gimli Hospital." God I love that movie. And his 6 minute short "The Heart of the World" is f**king incredible.

People are going to kill me for this, but "House of 1,000 Corpses" gets my vote. I was waiting for this one for a long time, and read so many bad reviews about it that I was convinced only true horror fans would "get it." Well, after seeing it, and although I love how it looks, I was saddened. It just wasn't very scary--or interesting. It didn't present anything really new. There are a lot of things from other movies in there that anyone can spot. Then again, Rob Zombie is a big fan of horror films. I just want to see something more than a fanboy's movie. Oh well, maybe Rob Zombie's "House of 1,000 Corpses Part 2," which he's currently writing, will be somewhat better. He's a good man, this Rob Zombie.

"Black Devil Doll from Hell"
A shot on VHS, acted by total non-pros and scored with a $50 casio keyboard. Actually, it is sooooooo bad it's good. Makes Ed Wood look like Hitchc*ck.
It is a total hoot.

"10,000 Maniacs"... Andy Griffith meets Chainsaw Massacre... which really should've been a good mix.
But this time it wasn't.

HeHe.... I have Black Devil Doll. I laughed so hard when we were watching it. We heard it was bad, so I had to find it. It was by no means, the worst I've seen. Actually, I go out of my way to find movies that people say are the worst movies to see if they are in fact that bad. One that does come to mind was Meatcleaver Massacre. There wasn't even a freakin' meatcleaver in the movie!!! Sanitarium is pretty bad too. I bought it on DVD because it looked and sounded great. Boy, was I wrong!!I didn't even make it 10 minutes into it and off it went, and takes ALOT for me to shut a movie off, no matter how bad it was. Speck is pretty brutal too. I'm sure there are more I'll think of and reply back.

Just wanted to throw in my opinions. Seventies was a time of truly bad films. Invasion from Inner Earth tops my list. An alien invasion film about the end of the world minus the aliens, the invasion, and pretty much the end of the world. H.G.Lewis' Monster-A-Go-Go is terrible and so is Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.

You know, I wrote in to Empire magazine when they were conducting an online poll regarding this same subject and I mentioned the Kiss film. Apparently there are alot of loyal Kiss fans who cherish the Phantom movie. To me, it was like watching a lo-ooong episode of Wonder Woman minus the t&a. But I'm a Godzilla fan so what do I know.

here my list; House 2: the second story (the writter/director didnt know what he was doing) Jason goes to hell (i wanted to kill myself for this one!) scream 3 (craven you p***y) Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys (why did NBC ruin too good b-movie francises?) House of a Thousend corpses (devil's rejects was WAY better) Silent Night, Deadly Night part 2 (95% was flashbacks from the first one, need i say more?) ANY REMAKE ON ANY MOVIE (realy pisses me off!) Any thing BOTH, produced and relased by THE ASYLUM (I feel bad for the films that were relased by those a******s, and my prior post was a big sh*t on the Asylum)
These films alone and MANY other sh*t piles not just in horror but other genres got me into filmmaking, and i'm still struggling to get my first short made!
