What are some ways to get my music into more horror movies? Should I try to contact directors directly through their websites? How do I let film makers know that I exist? Where do film makers go to pick music for their movies? I have a website where people can hear my work but I dont know where to advertise it so that film makers will notice me. My webpage is at garageband.com/artist/jfhorrorsoundtracks

Well, contacting directors does work the biggest part of the time for me. This place right here is a great place to advertise. Just be persistent.

Taxi.com is another place, join Taxi Dispatch and you get regular emails from TV/Film etc that need music fast. It's not all horror, but opportunities are real. Versusmedia.com is also a good place to find film makers as well as being able to sign an agreement digitally. I wrote a piece for an indie film maker just to show what I could do, now she will use it in her trailer. You also have a lot of horror conventions ( wish I could go I'm in China so it's tough to raise the cash for the flight) where you can meet them in person. Film schools too, everyone starts somewhere. Horrorchannel.com you will find a lot of announcements from film makers of new films. As well as lots of info about horror itself. They recently accepted submissions for music and film. I think making it easy for someone is key as well, people are busy, if it's too tough to deal with you they go elsewhere. Larger studios will rarely listen to your stuff simply because they can get sued, so they just won't. Music libraries I'm not sure about I think you could waste a lot of time there, I've had a guy be really critical of a tune, yet it was signed and released on record! So opinions are just that...opinions! Any questions just ask I've been recording a long time and film is my dream too, especially horror. The Ghost That Walks
