Alright, so there's this vidoegame company called Climax Studios. I want to call my film company Climax Films, could Climax Studios get all pissed about this get the law involved?

No, as long as you call yourself 'Climax Films' rather than 'Climax Studios' there will be no problem. Also, if you are setting up in a different business, you can call yourself a name that already exists if need be. The software entertainment and film businesses are a little too close to risk it though. For example, Ford Films, or 'Pontiac Films' as you are not going to be manufacturing automobiles. Obviously, some manufacturers may have already registered every concievable form of name, so you might find that 'Ford Films' is already owned used by Ford. Incidentally, 'Climax Films' sounds like a porno production house, so I'd avoid that particular one if I were you (Unless, of course, you are going to be making porno) Laws differ around the world, so be sure to check whats relevant in your country. A quick search on google.com should provide plenty of info.
