does anyone know a cheap resource for skeletons? I dont need a full skeleton at the moment, but I do need parts. namely a full arm. Recently I have tried making my own. I have had some success and it is incredibly cheap, but I am curious if there is an easier method. The method I came up with is to shape tinfoil like the particular bones needed, smear plaster on them and then file them down with a dremel. the only thing I worry about is how brittle they are. I honestly think I could build a lifelike skeleton using this method.

I don't know of any cheaper way for you to do this other than doing it yourself. For me I would probably make molds out of each bone (hand and feet I would probably make one piece). and then cast it up and use a plastic to finish it off. Making a mold will also save you a bit of time doing double pieces. wnt.utexas.edu/~eskeletons/is a great resource for knowing exactly what each bone looks like and the bones name

anatomical.com/bcategory.asp?c=7This is website know as buckey's Bone Yard. They sell 4th generation skeletons which mean they are basically factory rejects because they are discoloured, or have an imperfection, etc. They cannot be used as teaching aides but will work great for props. I haven't been to the site for a while and it seems that they are really limited in what they sell now but they still have some great products. If i were you i would pruchase an entire skelton and make molds of the various parts, this way if you ever need another you can just pour some liquid plastic in the mold and you have new part.

buckeys boneyard would have been a great resource for the left arm I need, but since I have already started I have decided to use what I have. Now that I look at what I have made its not so bad, especially since it will be covered in gore anyhow. I will post some pics of my project soon.
