I have an idea for a short that I'm writing and i would like your opinions on it. Here it goes
A man makes a deal with the devil for fame and fortune as a writer. The deal goes as planned until the devil realizes he's been tricked and raises the stakes to the game. Not realizing the devil is in on his scheme, our aurthor is in for a rude awakening.
What do you think?

My thoughts...this writer must be a heckuva lot smarter than any writer I'VE ever met! The drawback to a plot like this is that the devil comes out looking like a moron. I mean, we're talking about a guy who's been around since the beginning of time. He's probably seen a lot of trickery, if you know what I'm saying. That's why most "Faust-ian" plots wait until the end of the story to find the "escape clause" in their contract. However, I like the idea. And I think that if you can avoid the pitfall mentioned above, your story could be a clever spin on the old tale!
