I owe a lot to Lycan for giving me some great ideas for this movie. He'll definitely be noted in the credits. We've been contacting over email for the past few days about the direction of the story, the characters, and other aspects of the movie. Read on for the plot.
Blake, Shannon, Tim, Joe, Kaitlyn, and Matt are heading out for a hunting tournament deep in the woods. It's a ten day tournament where each team rents a cabin in the woods and goes from there. Unfortunately for our group, and two other teams, their cabins are located near what would seem to be Satan's territory. Where anything alive or dead becomes the hunter of humans. The territory also has the ability to drive one insane, and after you go insane, there's no going back. Tensions begin to rise between friends and hunting teams as the horror outside soon begins to be known. And slowly, this hunting tournament turns into the hunt for each other.
The script is moving along just fine, I've got some good and some not so good characters in it. I'm hoping to finish it in a few weeks. I'm also thinking of the name for our small movie company so I can put up a site with info on it as well as "Poison Oak." I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.

I think that after the third night one of them should turn up missing. And then on the fifth night he should walk up to the cabin door and knock on it. He should be holding a HUMAN HEAD IN HAND. What do you think?

If you are going to do a hunting horror film, the best way to approach it would be to have the hunters become the hunted. Why not have the animals they kill come back from the dead and start hunting them down? How do you kill something you've already killed?

DAD, that's actually what I had mentioned to JBHorror, there could be an unseen line drawn in the forest which, when crossed, will animate anything living or dead. It opens up a lot of possibilities....and coupled with the characters and their own fears/strengths/etc. it could get very interesting.
Just the idea of a holdng a tournament brings in the concept of competition. Add insanity, unseen evil in the forest, and it's a pretty good mix.
JB, email me when you come up with more character development, I'm thinking of some stuff that may help too. I'll keep ya posted.

Ok, I think there should be a secret conspiracy in the movie. Like lets say that the guns that THEY WERE ISSUED (key term) had special lead that was being tested by the government, and the whole "Tournament" was just one big testing site.
A chemical in the lead is the reason that the animals won't die and are very vicious. THAT WAY ITS NOT QUITE SUPER NATURAL yet it gives an explanation as to WHY they are vicious. GO YOUR WAY, but I think that this gives a better explanation. BUT YOU HAVE GOT A POTENTIAL MASTERPIECE!

You really don't need the insanity angle. The FUD factor alone would cause enough problems between the individuals involved. Having the the evil create situations where the hunters could even possibly start hunting each other accidently would work to pit them against themselves. It would end up being a situation where members of different groups would have to come together and relie on people they do not know or trust in an effort to survive. I can think of quite a few people I would not trust my life to ... but if I was in a situation where I had to? Makes me nervous to think about it.

That was a good point that you made, but when you really think about it. Audiences are starting to want to know HOW the hell did something happen. I think that he should use either events based upon the characters that he uses.

The government conspirocy has been done to death in the last few years too. I do like the idea that the people competing are issued guns and ammo in an attempt to level the playing field among the competition. Possibly have it that the people behind the event have ulterior motives and are trying to bring forth this evil entity. Kind of like an ancient cult thing similar to the Necronomicon or Chthulhu. Of course whenever you mess with the ancient ones things never turn out the way you want them too. LOL

YEAH thats a pretty good way to lay it out.
JBHORROR, I think that you should have the main character a HALF good guy and a HALF bad guy. Make him a nice guy yet assertive.
