Just watched a copy of "The Ugly" on DVD...
All I can say is, "WOW"
A movie that wasn't completely predictable from start to finish, interesting characters, plenty of scares, gore, and good writing/acting/directing all in what appears to be a very low budget film.
I just can't do a full review without ruining it for you all... just go see it.

The main character actually got onto the Boogeymen DVD alongside Freddy Krueger, Jason, etc...as one of the scariest there was.
This just stuck in my mind, I guess, when one day I stumbled across the DVD for 10 bucks and figured that I'd give it a try.
Good decision. Nuf said.
I really liked the way they used black for blood... interesting effect and new idea, sort of intensified what was happening.

I've been tellin people for months what a great movie this is. And nobody has yet to even watch it. If they only knew what they were missing. This is by far one of the best flicks I've ever seen! And the ending, incredible! It just rox. Thats all there is to it.

Agreed.
They really did the horror genre justice.

"The Ugly" is really a pretty film. One of the best in indie NZ horror. I don't want to give anything away, but that ending, WOW.

I saw this film a couple of years ago... and it's still a memorably disturbing film.
I know I'm repeating other people's comments here, but WOW
