Come on now, I know you've seen it. What did you think?

Umm, let's see. There is an almost certain chance that, had the original never been created, I would've let this movie pass. But, however, the original was (thankfully) made, which I thought kind of carried this movie. I think I was part happy to see my favourite chainsaw weilding cannibal back on the screen, but part disapointed at how much he's deteriorated from Gunnar Hansen's excellent portail of him back in the 70's. Which leads me to another point, this movie follows the strict rule that if the movie is in the 70's, then the entire cast must listen to Lynrd Skynrd, because, of course, everyone from the 70's was a fan of Lynrd Skynrd, right? I did think this movie was too slick and over produced. It lost that gritty, realistic feel that scared the crap out of everyone in the original. But then again, it makes up for that by casting that Jessica Biel (is it just me, or does she have ther nicest belly ever?) So anyway, to conclude, I thought that TCM 2003 was OK, but mostly because the original was so d**n good.
Now let's just hope they never remake the sequels ....

Yeah I just watched it. Biel is the big selling point here no doubt. I thought the guy from Mail Call was pretty funny (but was he suppose to be scary and intimidating?). I enjoyed the overall look of the film but why is it when you have multiple writers working on a big budget movie they always fall back on those old tired cliches every single time- the car that won't start, the cat the jumps out of nowhere, etc. And her saving the kid at the end of the film -just plain stupid! I still enjoyed it fairly well for what it was but I wouldn't even begin to compare it to the original!

The remake of chainsaw was just another waste of time. Nobody should remake classics, they just cash in off the title.
