Just wanted to get everyone else's opinion on this. It seemed like a very confused film ... French 18th century kung-fu monster film. I thought the film really dragged in parts and then towards the end turned into ... Rambo. Political storyline was overwritten but I really did like alot of the imagery in it. I had to be critical over a well-made film removed from the Hollywood cookie-cutter factory. And you know, I really felt sympathy for the beast towards the end!
Sadly, I watched the dubbed version of the movie. Bad mistake.
