Hey everyone! Night of Anubis, an original 45-minute film by Champaign, Illinois-based micro-studio Mobled Queen Entertainment, has just been released on DVD. The film debuted as the centerpiece of the 2005 Marathon of Fright film festival at Boardman's Art Theater in Champaign and has since been featured at the 2005 Ironstock Haunt Conference in Tell City, Indiana. Night of Anubis features internationally-acclaimed magician and performer Andy Dallas as an Egyptologist wrongfully arrested for the murder of his assistant. But how can he explain that the real killer has been dead himself for over three thousand years? A sinister force has resurrected the mummy of an ancient criminal. Now, the monumental task of destroying the undead creature has fallen to two of Richter's students (Ben McDuffee and Meagan Benz), who are about to have the worst night of their lives. Besides Night of Anubis, the $14.99 disc features a crypt-load of bonus features, including an alternate cut of the movie, filmmaker and cast commentaries, and the 1943 Superman cartoon The Mummy Strikes, which inspired aspects of the film. There are also a number of DVD-ROM features accessible via computer, including six complete mummy-themed eBooks (among them, the real Egyptian Book of the Dead and Bram Stoker's Jewel of Seven Stars), the complete soundtrack in MP3 format, and the shareware version of the Mummy Maze Deluxe computer game by PopCap Games. The DVD can be ordered online at www.mobledqueen.comCheers, Ed
