I was wondering if purchasing a sonxy vx1000 to use for my movies would be a good idea.. does anyone have any experience or knowledge about its mic or picture quality.. should i just epnd a bit more and buy a gl1? I really want to make my movies seems some what professionaly not just a high school kid making films with his friends "Which I am"

There was a professional study done between the VX1000 and the XL1 (not the GL1, but the XL1) that showed the VX1000 performed on par with the XL1 for image quality and color reproduction. No matter what camera you buy, you do not want to use the on camera mic ... PERIOD! Buy an external shotgun mic and your sound will be so much better. Even a cheap external mic will perform so much better than the ones they put on the cameras it will amaze you.
