I wrote a script almost 5 years ago, a very character driven Zombie story. One that championed both thoughfull process as well as flashy gore.
I shelved it and just started to dust it off and do some rewrites on it.
But am I just too late?
I had planned on doing this very low budget myself, I have access to a friends XL-1...but now I'm torn between this and other ideas.
I have no hopes for this other than going to dvd, and I think it would do well as a rental.
I need to be realistic, but should I put my effort into the more mainstream ideas that I have floating around? Or finish what I've started?
Thx for any/all advice.

Just out of curiousity, which script would you personally rather do? Are you happy with both? Which is more viable for you to produce?

At this point I'm facing either the older zombie one, which is nearing full feature length (but will need some add ins). Or the current shorts that I am working on. The shorts would certainly be easier to do, and would be easier to submit to festivals, but I fear never getting back to the old one and regretting it at some point. My newer concepts are calling to me even when I sleep ;D , but those are well above what I could hope to do as an independent financial entity. I just don't want to reach a realization someday that I cut my own throat by not doing a work when it was "It's time", and then be forced to throw it out or try to do it as a throwback after the genre has cooled. Anyone else ever had this come up? and if so how did it turn out? Thx

Yeah, Ive felt that way about older stuff I've written. Is the zombie film full length? Is there any way to do more than one feature? Seems that zombies are pretty popular again, could be a very easy sell for you right? But you know, if you're not feeling it, maybe you shouldn't follow through with it. Especially since you seem very excited about some of your other material.

It's approaching full length, in fact it's the one I've asked about posting here for critiquing from my peers ;D And considering that I saw a trailer for a Snoop Dog Airplane movie..I'd assume everything is an easy sell at this point

Well, not everything good gets appreciated, but you never know if you don't try.
