Hey Darky, I reviewed Voice of the Dead and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Reviews are all about opinions...
You are totally entitled to yours, but please don't insult the filmmakers without giving them real and thoughtful critiques (i.e. the lighting was too dark, the continuity was bad, the editing lacked in skill, etc.) To just say that "It Sucked" doesn't really help anyone and sort of makes you seem like you don't know exactly why you didn't like the film.
This forum is for discussion, networking, and critiques, so we welcome yours as long as they are said with the intent of giving an honest opinion backed up with examples.

Hello, Darky. I appreciate your honesty on Thunder Hills, even though it was quit blunt and rude. I dont think of us as posers, as you say. Of course, we are not profesional filmmakers but we have to start somewhere. Granted, our story isnt that original. This is what I wanted. I wanted the task of taking an old story and trying to bring in something new. Hopefully, I have done just that.
Voice of the Dead, while not the greatest film in the world, was still pretty good. When watching micro-budget independent films, you have to take into context that these arent films you would normally see. Most are first time efforts done with under $100. Most of us on this board have no money to put into our movies, so we have to settle with what we have. Sometimes we get something great, sometimes we dont.
I think that before you start making the remarks that you have been (I noticed that you were also on Tourniquet Films' boards with basically the same argument), you need to stop and think of what part of this business you are reading into. We are not filmmakers with millions of dollars who are working under a studio. Also, like SuperHeidi stated, you should state why you dont like the films instead of just saying that it sucks. Try to be constructive.

the voice of dead is bad all the way round. i have seen movies made with no money and they turned out better.
i think using a old story for thunder hills was just a cop out. and there are many people who make movies for the first time and make materpieces.
i think these movies suck or will suck. there are many others here as well i will ist them all later.
here is someting contructive. you dont have a good story or any money dont make the dang movies!

You know, Darky, I have to say you have a right to your opinions. I totaly respect that.
There are many flms I hate and I want to be able to express my opinions on those...
So, in the tradition of freedom of expression andopinions,
I think YOU suck, and you write like a 4 year old. I wouldn't take movie advice from you if my life depended on it, which, thank GOD, it won't. I have more respect for these guys trying to make their films than people like you who Speak but cannot DO. What is it that YOU"VE done that makes you so high and mighty?
By the way, in case you didn't see the sign when you came in, this is the LOW BUDGET HORROR FILMMAKERS SOCIETY, so if you hate low budget horror, why the hell are you here? That's like going into a strip club and telling everyone strippers make you sick...
That said, Welcome aboard

You know I am a friend of Randy Robinson and an amateur filmmaker. Darky do you even know the first thing of filmmaking. It is not having a camera, cast, crew, etc. It is having the dreams and hopes that you can make a film. To say stuff so rude and down right wrong about a film that is not even made is messed up. Randy even stated that script is not original,so what. At least he is trying. Where is your work? It could be the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Do you think I am just going to say"DUDE IT SUCKS! I HATE IT". No. I will tell the reason for me not liking it. That way on the next film he would know what to look for.( I really hope that came out right).
Here is the morale of what everyone here is trying to say. Yes you have freedom of speech, but use it wisely.

Sounds to me like 'darky' is just an opinionated little twerp, especially as he seems to need to hide behind a 'guest' tag.
As other people have already noted, if you have some constructive criticism to make, then make it, otherwise keep your opinions to yourself.
Unless you would like to allow us to see something you have made? Why not put yourself and your own work up for review?

Darky, your own presentation of your opinions wasn't very mature. You sure are a walking contradiction.

Opinions are welcome, as long as they are considered, thoughtful and constructive.
Just barging in and using a guest i.d. to slag people off is not going to win you any friends.
