Thirst For The Forest c.2003 by Stan Jankaitis. (synopsis)
Sod, the first vampire to exist is now an aged and sickly man. He has overpopulated the planet and all are now vampires and there is no blood left for them to survive.
He decides to end his suffering by facing the sunrise but before he does he reminisces about how it all began. The terror of those he attacked and transformed. His first two. Leechris and Ursa, who turned against him. The priest and his beautiful assistant who hunted him. And his beloved forest which is now a crumbling city slum.
But although Sod has plans to end his existence Leechris and Ursa have found a way to continue on.
This work will air nationwide on KUSF radio San Francisco, USA in Dec. of 2004. Information for hearing this work online: This radio play can also be heard online during the week of Dec. 24 to Dec. 29 at this site:
