I was just doing a school project and was curious as to what to name my "company". If someone is going to start making their own films and puts together a group of people that will be making them, what type of name do you use? Which of the following should it be: ( using Joe Blow as an example )
Joe Blow Productions ?
Joe Blow Films ?
Joe Blow Entertainment ?
We are supposed to come up with a name and logo, and I would like to use the appropriate type of company name. All help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much !

well,
I think that "Productions" is always a good way to go, telling people exactly what you do: You MAKE films.
"Entertainment" could mean that you promote actors, that you act as agents, or managers.... or that you distribute films.
"Films" is always another good one....
Remember, the name is not so important as what you do with it!!!

what does a company name signify anyway? I heard it was mainly for legal reasons, so instead of an individual being sued a company is .. something to that effect. But I am pretty clueless about what the importance is. I would choose a production company title that doesn't sound like a production company title: Joe Blow's hazardous tree removal service.  |

Black Tear Films
(copyright 1998)
I think Films is the way to go when your doing something like that,i dissagree with the person that said Productions is the best straight forward one,Films is because when you see Joe Shmoe Films you know they make films,when you see Mike Joeson Productions,that could mean any kind of productions,film,television,on stage.I would say go with Films
