I am planning on becoming an Indie director for a permanent career and was wondering if anyone has been to the Toronto film school and if they offer good courses for directors

By Toronto film school i assume you mean ryerson. Ryerson along with Concordia in Montreal are the most reputable film schools in Canada and are right up there as some of the best film schools in the world. If you have a chance, go for it!
