Hey, Im wondering about what kind of camera i should get. Im making a "Halloween" themed film (it's got nothing to do with the Halloween movies, my film is just set on halloween) and its going to look very "fall-ish". I was wondering what kind of camera to get on the budget of 250-350 dollars. I want the film to look profesional as possible, and i also want it to look very John Carpenterish. I like the widescreen he uses. Any suggestions? Thanks! And i forgot to mention, I am looking at used cameras, so that price range dosent need to be for brand new cameras.

I recently bought a Canon ZR800. It's widescreen, has a mic input, manual controls (through menus) and runs about $275 brand new from best buy. I had to order mine from bestbuy.com
So far, I'm very happy with it. I plan on getting a larger, more expensive camera soon, but for an DV cam, on a budget, with pro features, this one's not bad.

EBAY!! I know it sounds dumb, but you can find things very cheap on ebay. I would say take your budget up another $200. The Canon HV20 is an amazing camera.
