Hi. I'm brand spanking new here and I always like to know what people like to listen to. People believe the album is pretty much dead but I don't think that's true at all. What are your favorite albums, soundtracks, or what do you like to listen to?
I really like the first White Stripes album alot, listen to it all the time. I also like Iowa by Slipknot.
Soundtracks would include the first two Lord of the Rings, William's Star Wars and Empire. This may seem weird, but I love the soundtrack to Conan the Barbarian and would like to own it. I also like the first Crow soundtrack.

I've always been a fan of dark wave/goth even before I knew the genre existed.
Switchblade Symphony- Serpentine Gallery Frank Black- self titled album Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds- Murder Ballads
hey, I like Stripes really well too. And Depeche Mode and Misfits. Ever see the Slipknot video to 'Spit it out'? New album should be out soon.
Soundtrack- love all the classic Hermann stuff from Hitchc*ck films. Elfman is great but his music is sounding the same anymore.

I like Merciful Fate. Metalica did some covers of theirs and I thought the songs were pretty funny. Trying to listen to all the King Diamond related stuff.

Ok maybe you guys think they are too main stream but the Foo Fighters make great albums. The Color and the Shape being one of my all-time favorites.
But, for a really great concept album . . . try The Turtles - Battle of the Bands. Each song they are a "different band" it's pretty cool if your into the whole 60s thing, but it's a great idea that I haven't seen anyone else do.
Mr. Bungle has released 3 albums all of which are totally unique. You'd never know it was the same band on each one.

This is kind of off subject, but I would really like to see horror movies take a different stab at music, maybe something more like Mogwai or Sigur Ros. I thought 28 days later was a step in the right direction with Grandaddy and the amazing guitar driven stuff. I understand that most Indie Horror movies are going for campy but that doesn't mean the music has to be bad!
I recently watched the 30th anniversary edition of Night of the Living Dead with the "AMAZING NEW SOUNDTRACK"...and i snored through the whole thing. Creepy Synth piano stuff is getting so redundent.
Although not horror I thought Vanilla Sky has one of the best soundtracks ever...when he realized everything was a dream and the beach boys kicked in I about lost my wig. Great stuff.

i mostly listen to 80's hard rock and heavy metal, but I like a wide range of music, from Hall and Oates to Iron Maiden.
while not exactly purist, I mostly have greatest hits albums from my various favorite bands, including:
Motley Crue Iron Maiden Poison Guns N' Roses Hall and Oates Ozzy Osbourne ACDC ...and many more!
My favorite soundtrack that I own is, bar none, the 7-CD Grand Theft Auto: Vice CIty soundtrack, especially the V-Rock, Emotion, Flash FM and Wave 103 CDs
one soundtrack that I really love but do not own is the one from the movie The Lost Boys.
