My name is Harris Bloom. I'm a freelance writer who will be writing a horror column for Surreal Magazine. I will be writing for their website as well (www.surrealmag.com - it goes live towards end of this month).

As part of my gig, I will be reviewing independent horror flicks (I have little interest in reviewing the mainstream ones). As the resident reviewer of such flicks, I was wondering if you want to send me any of your latest fare. I would alert you whether it gets in the magazine or the website. I feel like this is my own version of a mid-life crisis - I never thought about writing about Horror before (even though I grew up with it), but have sort of fell into it.

Hey, Harris. Hope everything's rolling along nicely with the new magazine. Just wondering... do you accept short films for review as well?

Well, as you can see, the site's slow to get started - as I understand it, the magazine should be shipping within the next couple of weeks...and teh site will have content around then as well (maybe sooner)

As far as reviewing short flicks, if it's really awesome I might give it a "shout out" as the kids say, at the bottom of a column devoted to full legth features
