I am working on a script right now and hope to film it in the future. It is a ghost story and most of it will be suggested. But there are a few scenes I would like to have, but I have no clue how to accomplish them.
1. The ghost can only be seen in shadows and mirrors. But her image will be blurred when seen in the mirror.
2. How can I make the image of the ghost disappear? One of those, now you see, now you don't deals.

If u want the ghost to sort of dissolve away i cant help u, but if u want her to be gone in a flash just have the camera set on a tripod or something. Film the ghost then stop the tape and take her out and then start rolling again.

This effect can be achieved easily via CGI.
Make sure that the camera is mounted on a tripod.
Get the shot of the scene without the ghost.
Get the shot of the person/ghost and key out the background...or get the shot from the mirror's perspective.
Use a 3d program or a very good 2d paint system to map the second shot "into" the mirror.

You may want to cover the mirror, for the first shot, with blue or green and key it out for better cropping during the mapping.

you can do a fade out in the same way that JBHorror said shoot the two shots then in an editing suite fade from the shot with the ghost to the one without.

you could film the back ground first then film the people in it and then if you have an editing program with a video and a video overlay put the background in video and then put the peopl one in the video over lay then you could just fade awy the people in the overlay but ithink you would have to do the green screen effect and key the people in
