Hiya, im new to the site and im making a low-budget zombie film. It may sound strange but im only having one zombie. I need my zombie to have his brain exposed in his skull maybe with a bit hanging out. It actually needs to be on my actors head aswell, and i have absolutely no money  . If anyone could help it would be really appreciated. Thanks  |

give your actor lots of painkillers, then cut off the top of his head and shoot quickly?  |

OKay... let's see...
Haven't done it before, but I'm sure this would work well for a low-budgety movie.
1. Buy a cheap plastic brain that would cost around 3usd. And then make a mold at the top part of it. You can use a rubber sculptor which would cost around 7usd.
2. It would be white in color, so pour your fake blood on it, and also starch so it looks slimy..

I have made brains out of spray foam insulation before available at hardware stores under the name good stuff?). You could make a section that fits the actors head and just paint the whole deal including the actors head with acryllic paints. You could even make skull fragments out of plaster of paris. If you play your cards right the whole ordeal might cost you $7.

oh! be careful with the good stuff. Its really sticky and messy. You don't want to touch it before it dries completely. It DOES make good brains though.

where do you live ? send me a private email if it doesent cost much i can send ya a latex pull of a mold i have here for the price of postage . probably bout 5 bills
fits on top of the head like a cap un painted..
just trying to help..

I'm not really that experienced in these kinds of effects, but maybe you could make a patch of the scalp out of liquid latex, then cut a hole in it and put some blood and a bit of sheeps brain or soggy bread in there or something.
