GUTS & INTESTINES How To?

I don't know nothin about doing FX but I can usually pull things off fairly well on a whim!

But I'm kinda stumped as to what people are using to make an open belly with raving mad "Zombies" pulling out guts and miles of intestines!

If at all possible, anything edible or sorta edible would be optimal...

I don't know why but i have been having to reply to this question alot lately. Anyway...

Go down to your local food supply store and buy some susage casings. Bring them home and soak them in a mixture of water and the juice of a lemon for 5 to 10 minutes to rehydrate them. Then take one out and blow into an end to open it up and run water inside to get out all the salt. Now tie off one end. Fill them up with some liquid jello and tie off the other end and put them in the fridge to set. As long as you cover these with your own homemade blood that has edible ingredients these intestines should be completely edible.

This is more of a tip on how to construct a fake torso and such, but then just fill it with your edible goodies and you're set to go.
