I want to make an invisible man. The most obvious idea is to have his clothes invisible too, but it would be cool to have a scene where he is wearing clothes and you can see the clothes but not his skin. I have Adobe Premiere and After Effects, but it still seems like rotoscoping (editing every frame by hand) is the only way to do this. Any other ideas?

Cover his skin with a bright green stocking or makeup and chroma key it out. That's how they did the headless horseman for Sleepy Hollow and Thing from the Addams Family...

I put on a florescent green Mt Dew hoodie and tried it and it worked amazingly well on even the first time without paying attention to the lighting! I'm going to try and find more of the same material.

Excellent! Glad to hear it worked out! I bought some cheap fabric from Wal-Mart and it worked just as well. as long as it's a bright saturated green color, anything should work. Hell, even poster board...The material is not as important as the color. The green works because it is too bright a color to be in skin pigment. Lighting is very important though, make sure it is very brightly lit and that the light is EVEN! Otherwise you'll get weird looking creases in the color and it won't look very good. Post your results, I would love to see them!

Here's my video results test youtube.com/watch?v=kXOiZGOTgcYI looked for some cheap Wal-Mart fabric like you did, and it works just as great! I just have to cut and sow it to a better shape. Thanks

Wow, just saw that for the first time and it looks cool. Do you plan to do a story with that or was this a one time thing. Either way, it looks great.

Thanks for the compliments! I planned a story, but school kept getting in the way. Now we're writing a poltergeist movie, and that will use some of this same effect.

Cool. Keep us posted and I'd love to see some more of the effects tests with that. Good luck with the movie and hopefully you'll get to do that story someday.
