OK, I'm trying to make this slasher flick, but I don't know how to do a spear or a pitchfork stunt.
I need the spear or pitchfork go through the stomach, but I don't know how to do that. I asked a few people, but they just told me to take double shots or film one shot with half the spear in the back and the other half of the spear in the front of the stomach, but how do I do that?
Do I cut a spear or metal pole in half and apply it on the stomach with blood? I'm also trying to do a stunt where one of the characters get a pitchfork through their guts. How do you do that?
I'd appreciate if someone told me how to do that to look real in the movie.

Here's what you want to do:
Place the pitchfork gently on the actors stomach. Have the killer pull the pitchfork away as fast as possible. During editing, play the footage in reverse so it looks like the pitchfork is being stabbed at their gut. For the next shot, you want to take the actors shirt and stuff it with a pillow or foam to make a dummy torso. Cut a path for the pitchfork to go through. Rig the torso with blood tubing or blood bags, fake guts, whatever the scene calls for. Shoot a really tight close up of the back of the torso, ram the pitchfork through the dummy chest and pump blood like a mother fucker. To complete the illusion, you want to cut the ends off of the pitchfork blades and carefully place them onto the actors now bloody chest. it will appear that the pitchfork is embedded in his gut. The scene would then go as follows,
The killer would ram the pitchfork towards the victims stomach (reveresed footage) Cut to close up of the pitchfork coming through the actors back (tight close-up of the fake torso) Cut to victim clutching at pitchfork now embedded in his gut (The pitchfork with the ends cut off)
Hope that helps! -Mike
