Stabbed through abdomain

Hello, I need an effect for someone being stabbed through the stomach with a large metal pole/pipe.. The character will be standing up, but I don't need to show him being stabbed, just after he is stabbed with the pole through his abdomain. The shot has to be wide enough to fit two people on it. Here is the scene:

Another loud crack is heard and Sam stops and stares also. Suddenly, blood splatters all over Sam’s back. He turns around quickly to see Blake standing there with the metal pole shoved through his stomach. Thomas is standing right behind him.

Perhaps take a pole, cut it in half, and then tape both sides to the guy.

I was thinking of something like that, but i need something that will be able to support the wieght of it, or i need to find something lighter to use..

buy some white PVC pipes and paint them to look metalic and rusted...and from there tape them to your actor.
