did anyone catch this list show on Bravo? I liked it alright. Happy to see Audition made the list.
I had some problems with it. I think in some cases they got the right movie but picked the wrong moments. Such as Nightmare on Elm Street, by far the best moment for me is when they first show Freddy and his arms are streatched out and you don't know anything about this guy at all he's just in the shadows. Or Aliens ... the queen alien was just one of the most repulsive creatures ever. That was a great moment when they first showed her.
I was wondering what I would add to the list that I feel they neglected. Val Lewton was neglected. The end of Curse of the Demon was cool and I loved I walked with a Zombie. Sharon Tate's murder in the Fearless Vamp killers. I dunno .. that's just off the top of my head. Would love to hear what you guys would add.

Yeah I watched it on Bravo. ( I think for 4 hours ) It was pretty cool. I wrote down movies that I had not seen before and am going to watch all of them. One of the movies that looked that I hadn't seen before was Audition, that did look good. I am also going to rent the old black and white movie Freaks. (just because they were all REAL freaks)

I didn't get a chance to see this presentation, but I'm wondering if they added the scene from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974, when the female meathook victim entered the skull infested room of the demented family, which I felt was very intense, and terrifiying, with suspense and detail, along with sound effects that were beyond belief. Or in Friday the 13th, which is always unfairly downplayed in horror, when a young Jason leaps out of the waters of Camp Crystal Lake, and pulls his victim off of the boat.
As a 9 year old horror freak, I was traumatized for days.

yeah, they mentioned the Jason scene alright. As far as TCM goes, I think they focused on the first time we saw Leatherface, but I have to agree with you that one particular scene is the stuff of true horror!
I think Scream is so overrated. They set it up as a spoof of horror films and talk about all the cliched things that happen in genre movies and then by the end of the film they follow these same stupid rules they were making fun of! Good opening scene though, but they had it like what -in the top ten? feh.
