I have been working on a swords & sorcery script for the last year or so. It is loosely inspired by Lucio Fulci's Conquest. It is about a warrior and a magician who have to travel to another dimension in order to capture a demon, bring him back to their home dimension and destroy him. I am a long way from starting it, but in between my current horror projects I work on costumes, miniature sets and prop weapons for it.

Sounds very cool . I have never seen conquest.
I would like to film with minature sets and such. What's the secret in filming them and making them look .. well .. not so minature?

2 main things to remember for realistic miniatures is the detail of the miniatures of the miniatures and the use of a diffusion filter (or for some poeple: panty hose over the lense of the camera). Lighting and camera positioning are very important and it is sometimes necessary to film or tape at higher frame rates if there is any movement in the shot.
