Myself and a few like-minded idiots make amateur movies in our spare time. We feel that they are of reasonable quality and wish to create our own website and broadcast them to the world, etc... But, since we are a bunch of complete degenerates with about as much IT knowledge as a duck, we are stuck. We've made a website off-line yet do not know how to put it on the web. All those who help will be rewarded with a warm glowing feeling near the base of their spines.

Well, you need to get some webspace to start with, then you need an ftp program, you use the ftp software to upload your files to the webspace. You will most likely have to change the links that you have already got on your pages, so as an example if a link is "C://mydocuments/website/index.html" you will have to change it to simply "index.html" well, this reply could get long and tedious, thats the basic stuff tho, if you need anymore help email me at admin@lorefilms.com

yes, ave, lorefilms is right. You need an FTP program, I recommed WS FTP you can download a 30 day trial version here www.ipswitch.com/and then you need to buy web space. Once you buy 1) a domain name (i.e. http://www.yoursite.com) and 2) web hosting (just because you own the domain name doesn't mean you own any space on the internet), the hosting company will email you and let you know when your site is active (meaning that you can put content up). That usually takes about three days from when you buy it to when you can actually put stuff up on it, using the FTP program you take the files on your computer and upload them to the internet, specifically to your web URL www.yoursite.comyour host will give you a username and password... it's prettty easy after the first time you do it!
