This has got too be one of, if not the best science Fiction/mystery/horror movie of all time. As you can probably imagine this is my favorite movie. I wish they would have done, or would do a sequel. I highly doubt they will, but I wanted yalls opinion on the flick, what do yall think?

Yea, the whole production was amazing.. where they found that archieved footage must have been in a deep dark crevice. I mean how long was it 2 hours of making the movie from on sight shooting. Have you heard anything about sequels... there was a rumor when the game came out, but it didn't do that well...

i was so angry at critics who thought Bottin went overboard with the gruesome SFX! This film wasn't respected when it came out at all. Seems like Carpenter has been smacked around by the critics since Halloween!

The only type of sequel I have heard about is the one Frank Darabont(probably didn't spell that right) is doing. It will be airing on the Sci-Fi Channel. They are calling it a remake, but Darabont is saying it is more of a sequel than remake. www.upcominghorrormovies.com for more info.

I have to agree. Even though it's a remake, it does something different than the orginal movie. In this case it's almost like they just used the title. I highly recommend this to anyone! Great film!

John Carpenter's The Thing was an excellent movie. It had a great concept, kept me guessing, the effects were great. Overall great movie of it's time. Most people would hate endings like that, where it leaves everything open, but I dug it very much. Though I tend to like movies like that. It's a shame with a movie that is left opened that nothing has become of a sequel. You're right it did lack a lot of respect from people, and it's unfortunate. There seems to be a lot of people though that love this movie. Gotta give it up to the cult followings!!

The Thing rocks, bottom line, excellent movie. And I agree it's one of the very best in the genre. Probably the best remake in my opinion that has ever been done.

Ace movie! It didn't really feel like a remake, it felt like another Carpenter creation, he did an ace job!
