Roadkill tells the story of Jenny(Danielle Lozeau) a typical teen who like many kids today makes the mistake of drinking and driving. While speeding down the road she throws an empty bottle out the window and gets distracted for a split second and hits a wanderer(Kevin Cirone). The mysterious man doesn't take nicely to being hit by a car and left for dead and acts out his bloody revenge.
Danielle Lozeau was cast perfectly in the role of scream queen in this short. With her girl next door good looks and natural presence on camera it must have been a no brainer to cast her for the role.
Kevin Cirone on the other hand doesn't fair so well in this review. His character seemed to be too passive and forgettable as the serial killer. Not to say he didn't do an adequate job he did. I just feel that his character could have been so much more.
The story was well written and actors did a good job with dialog they were given. With that being said I would have like to have seen more of a buildup to the final confrontation between Jenny and the wanderer. And the anti climatic ending prove to be overly predictable to the point that i was waiting for a twist at the end that never came.
I give Roadkill a 3 out of 5
