Just thought that I'd let you guys in on this one.
We've been struggling with the idea of dragging monitors with us on location for my viewing of the footage during filming...this is generally standard practice BUT...
With a mulitpocketed vest and a Sony VR Headset... I'm not totally mobile AND can see and hear everthing being shot without any lines plugging me into an outlet. This thing is excellent, high res, sounds great, and is running off a battery neatly pouched in the vest.
Not only this, but I'm geared up with a video game switcher (20 bucks) as well, so I can switch through all the cameras on the set...
AND...I'm 100% geared up before I even get into my truck to go on location.
VR Headsets cost about the same as a decent or even cheap monitor...companies are discontinuing them left and right because they've all marketed them in other areas, that aren't interested right now. Take advantage of this if you get the chance. There's nothing like directing from a virtual 60" high res screen that follows you.
