I'm in escrow, and have decided to treat myself to the XL1s.
Is it worth the 5xxx? And thoughts from anyone who's used one?
And should I be looking at another model instead?
Thx everyone ;D

After shopping around I'm seeing these for as little as 3,999.

What escrow are you using? Be careful. There are some fake ones out there. I was recently ripped off by one big time and I was trying to purchase a camera.

There are a few of the newer cameras getting a pretty good rep, the XL1 is knocking on a bit now. It might be worth holding off on your purchase for a few months, see what happens, especially with the newer 16:9 formats. Personally, I use a PD150, much better lens than the standard XL1 (in my opinion) (and yes, I do know you can rent an adaptor and use Arri lenses).
