what sort of lighting equipment do you guys normally use?

ive only made shorts, but i use 500watt lights for outsie use. and the inside i just use house lights, sometimes using a higher wattage bulbs. and also reflectors. which you can make from tin foil and carboard.

I'd recommend rank/strand gels if you can get hold of some, your local (UK) lighting hire place should have a good selection. Otherwise, just do a google and see what comes up, this page seemed to have a good list www.premier-lighting.com/sales/colorfltr.htmlMake sure you get a selection of colour correction (daylight and tungsten) as well as a variety of ND's. It might also be a good idea to get something sturdy to keep them in, I use a cheap plastic artists-portfolio/map tube with a shoulder strap. Get yourself some wooden, metal sprung, clothes pegs to clamp them to your lights, and try to avoid cutting the gels if you can. |
