Alright I'm soon to direct my frist movie and I will be using a Canon 2R50mc Digital Video Camcorder and I was hoping that I could get some advice on how I should use it for the best picture I can get...
My movie, No Alternative, is a classic zombie horror with my new twist which takes place mostly outside in a neighborhood surrounding...I've only learned about shutter speed and this will be my frist time using it. I'm just hoping I could get some help with this if anyone is willing...thanks

First of all, leave the image stabilizer off, that means either using a steady-cam or getting someone with a good hand/arm, digital image stabilizers normally reduce resolution although its probably not noticeable. With shutter speeds you need to make sure you dont have it set as low as the 1/25 setting, again, this normally halves image resolution, and lets be honest, its mostly unusable anyways unless youre spying on the neighbours in the dark, on my xl1s i normally leave it at 1/50. Only other thing i could recommend is open the apature as much as you can, youl need to use a nuetral density filter to counter the brightness, but with the iris open to its fullest it will reduce focul length giving a more film like look, the backgrounds will go out of focus, and you may be able to pull off some rack effects :-) Hope this helps a little.
