Just wondering why Horror movies and no/low budget films are almost one and the same? In my mind i'd think that drama would be, because you don't need any props really or anything.
Don't get me wrong, I highly enjoy many a low budget horror flick, and am not a drama man myself.
Just curious.

What we have found is people now what to expect from low budget horror. They know they are going to see bad special effects (most of the time), lots of blood, cheap thrills and maybe a nude female or two. Because of that there is a market for that type of movie. Dramas are different. Unless you have a name star or do really well at a festival, it is hard to get people to buy or rent a Drama that they know nothing about. There are exceptions, but usually it takes a lot longer to see a return on your investment, if you see one at all. We are filming horror movies now, but plan to include dramas in our upcoming productions. www.requestentertainment.com

I think some of the cheapest things that could be done look the scariest. If it is all clean cut, it's just not creepy.
