Well, here I am; and since I'm here, I'll share a little bit about me.
I was eight years old before I saw my first horror movie. It was the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Scared the living crap out of me. I had nightmares for the better part of a month. The funny thing was, after the third or fourth nightmare, I began to realize that I really liked being scared sh*tless in a dream.
Of course, you don't like it while you're dreaming, but the sensation after you wake up--that moment of panic as your head clears--was a very refreshing rush for me. Since then, I was addicted to horror movies; constantly looking for one that would give me the worst nightmares possible. [I'm a huge Clive Barker fan]
I thoroughly enjoyed growing up in the 80' and early '90's. The movies of the 70's were still fresh (The Exorcist & Halloween), and 80's were starting to rock the theatres with horror. Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and my personal favorites, Hellraiser & Prince of Darkness, were hitting the screens. It was a good era for horror.
Then came the mid to late 90's and the new millenium and horror movies crapped out. Once in a while, you got a gem like Event Horizon or the re-release of The Exorcist (unlike Star Wars, the added effects complimented the movie instead of destroying it), and just this recently, the Dawn of the Dead remake.
Unfortunatley, I don't have nightmares anymore. Which is a shame. Sleeping is much more boring these days. In fact, I had a dream where I was completely bored, then woke up, and had never been more bored in my entire life. You have no idea how bored I was.
Anyway, I'm now 24, a student at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA (it's just east of Sacramento). Just about to finish up my AS in Web Programming as well as an AS in Object Oriented Programming. I'll probably take one more semester there, because my degrees are so closely related. A few more classes and I can snatch an AS in Web Server Technology and a couple certs.
Aaaaaaaaaand...I think that's it. If there's anything I missed, just ask me. ;D
