Hello all, Canadian (Toronto) producer here developing a first feature-- horror, of course. I've been working in the industry as a lighting technician for about 8 years, have produced a few small music videos and a couple of short films. You can find info at www.emberfilms.com. To get an idea of the feature I'm developing, go to www.rankinsbog.com. I'll be poking around the various threads to see what's what with this site-- looks very cool though. Excited to share info with some like-minded filmmakers. Would love to hear from other Canadian filmmakers in the Toronto area...

Welcome to the boards!
I don't live in Toronto area but would like to move there sometime in the future. I've written several screenplays and sold one. Check out the WRITERS AVAILABLE section if you are in need of any writers or screenplays.

Seven,
Thanks for the welcome. Congrats on the screenplay sale. You say you want to move to TO in the future-- where are you right now?
I have a slow response time to this board because I'm working in Barrie full time during the week, and only checking msg's on the wkend.

Right now, I live in Winnipeg. I'm currently working on my own spec projects: a rewrite of a horror feature, a rewrite of a coming-of-age drama-comedy feature, and a TV pilot about the RCMP. I'm also working on an untitled Internet series with someone in LA and am under consideration for other feature projects in England and the US. But we'll see how all that pans out.
By the way, cool horror movie idea for RANKIN'S BOG. Reminds me of a collection Amazonian tribal folk tales collected in a book called BARBECUED HUSBANDS. And cool comic book illustrations as well. Definitely interested in seeing in this film.

I live about 15-20 minutes away from Toronto and plan on moving there within the next year or two.

Seven,
Sounds like you've got a lot of interesting things on the go. Thanks for the tip about the short stories-- will definitely hit that book up as a reference.
If you're coming this way for the Festival of Fear in a few weeks, the guy who did the art for the Bog site, Mike Faille, has informed me that he plans on having a booth in Artist's Alley where he'll be selling / signing copies of a comic he did.
Good luck with everything.
