The Lone Star International Film Festival, Fort Worth in Sundance Square has opened its call for entries for the 4th Annual festival running from November 10-14, 2010.
Horror films have been severely underrepresented in our past festivals due to a lack of submissions and I am reaching out to the horror filmmaker community as a fan of the genre to rectify that situation.
We don’t care who your actors are, we regularly sell out our screenings already and our only concern is quality.
We are making a concerted effort to remove any financial barriers to entry and have lowered our fees significantly. Our fee for all short form films is only $20 and $30 for features when filmmakers enter before May 31st.
Earlybird Deadline May 31st
Regular Deadline August 1
Late Deadline September 5
WAB Extended Deadline September 12
We have also extended the completion date requirement for entries back to August 1, 2009. Any films completed before this date will need to request a rule waiver along with an explanation as to why the film deserves it (for instance, the film hasn’t appeared at any festivals because there weren’t funds available to enter festivals before August 1, 2009).
For full rules and information or to enter please visit our listing:

Films that have been selected to screen at the LSIFF have gone on to receive recognition at major festivals and awards shows such as Cannes, Sundance, and the Academy Awards. Our competition jury is comprised of industry professionals and prizes are designed to facilitate future projects of award winning filmmakers. Past shorts prizes have consisted of software such as Autodesk Maya 2010, Final Draft, and other software to simplify the filmmaking process. The Best Narrative Feature winner will receive an assortment of goods and services that will assist the winner in producing their next feature film including a $50,000 35mm Panavision camera package.
Thank you, and please contact us at info@lonestarfilmsociety.com if you have any questions,
