6th Cinefantasy Call for Entries is open for horror, sci-fi and fantasy films
Cinefantasy International Fantastic Film Festival calls for entries for the 6th edition that will run from August 30th to September 11th at the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
For the last five years the festival has been encouraging, discussing and divulging genre films in Brazil. And, for this year's edition, Cinefantasy shows a funny and obscure illustration created by the animator and designer Victor-Hugo Borges who painted it especially for the festival’s poster. In fact, this art perfectly represents the concept of Cinefantasy.
Cinefantasy is an international film festival whose program is totally dedicated to fantastic films and takes place in a city that is the sixth biggest one in the world and also Latin America's most influential in arts and entertainment, São Paulo.
Launched in 2006, the festival runs every September and occupies three screening theaters during two weeks. In 2010 Cinefantasy has consolidated itself as the main genre film festival of Brazil recognized by audience, media and critics.
Submissions for 6th Cinefantasy may be done at the festival website until June 26th, free of charge.
The participant may choose from three competitive selections: Features, Short Films and Master of the Scream Contest. There are 15 categories of awards for short selection and 12 for feature selection.
The Master of the Scream Contest will grant the “Golden Dry-Corpse” award to the film that takes the creepiest bunch of screams out of the audience.
