Hey what's up my name is Jay and I'm in my 30's. I am an aspiring Filmmaker. My interest lies in the Horror Genre, I've always had a love for Horror ever since I was a little kid. I am very much a novice, I have no real formal experience outside of making home movies and reading many books on filmmaking, no Film School. Definitely do not have the money for that.
I got a place which I ll be filming most of my scenes in it with spare rooms and basement
My friend and I have just started my own low budget student horror production company and am looking for a completed script, or someone to write a screenplay based on a story I have.
A friend of mine committed suicide in 2007 and has gave me a script prior to that and production and everything stopped he was going to be in it and help me complete it for the sequel
I have been wanting to make this film. I have had the idea for this particular movie for years and have tried to rewrite the script and tweak it and have not liked the results. I have had about four people offer to write it and than they back out.
We are currently seeking a non-union screenwriter for our first feature, a micro-budget horror film. We have a plot and a tentative title in mind, and some very specific ideas regarding the tone and content of the film, but need an inventive, enthusiastic, dependable writer to flesh it all out and add his/her personal touch.
I'll be upfront in what I am looking for. If all you have is a 2 hour long boob and gore fest, please kindly move along. The sort of film I am interested in directing and producing are along the lines of psychological thriller/slasher fright films. I want something that does not try to gross out the audience from the get go. I think a perfect example of overall looking I'm shooting for is the SAW TRILOGY, minus the excessive blood
I have the basic idea, some sketchy scene ideas and friends willing to play the roles, just need someone to help link my ideas and help with structure and dialogue.
Film is just a starting project, it will most likely only see screenings on the web, but if it turns out well i might see about festival screenings and maybe self sale dvds.
Either way I am going to fulfill my dream of making movies, Whether they make any dough or not...well that's another thing entirely, I will not be holding my breath. I am wanting someone to collaborate with concerning some really interesting movie ideas I have. These ideas are of course for the horror genre.
Perhaps maybe I could get extremely lucky and find some really cool people who have a love of horror and for making horror movies. And perhaps these people may even wish to collaborate with me in the future on my filmmaking projects.
In my films, there will be little nudity, no 5000 gallons of blood, and no sick hockey masked country boy chasing around half dressed college coeds.
In my opinion that in order to truly terrify an audience, you must make them believe that the situation that is unfolding in front of them could possibly befall them if they are not careful.
I'm sure many of you would agree that in the day of age we live in, indeed the scariest things are what we experience in our lives.
I also love twist endings, especially the ones that really mess with your head when you realize that in 30 seconds of images, the last 2 hours has been a complete lie. That is what I'm looking for from a script.
My film is a combination of SAW/Captibity/Untraceable/silence of the lambs meets SCREAM/Urban legend and VALENTINE
