The Sons of Jihad is a new movie from DeadEye Pictures that is using terror and gore to attempt to bring "R" rated horror movies back into the spotlight in the United Kingdom. The company has launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for this new project
The Sons of Jihad is a horror movie being produced by DeadEye Pictures UK, a small production company owned by the Brown brothers, which is currently in pre-production. Written, filmed and based in the United Kingdom, the movie is a terrifying story that follows a group of extremists who abduct unsuspecting people to torture and murder them in order to get their point across. The writers allow the movie goer to experience both sides of the story by showing them not only what drives the murderers down this dark road but also what the victims go through during their short lived yet horrifying experience.
DeadEye Pictures UK is a production company that was started four years ago by the Brown brothers. They have years of experience writing and directing horror based short films using various special effect techniques and slowly perfecting their art. After several years working on smaller projects, they are now attempting something made for the big screen.
"The film is a violent character driven horror/thriller. The story follows a group of extremists who abduct, torture and murder in the name of religion in a new wave of religious terrorism that strikes at the heart of the UK," says Steven Brown, one of the two Brown brothers responsible for writing and directing the film.
The brothers claim that over the years, the film industry has lost touch with what they believe horror films should be. They believe that “real horror movies should not be PG-13” and are attempting to create a new horror film franchise that will be more realistic and geared towards adults and true horror and gore fans.
The director was also quoted as saying, "We intend and are determined to bring back the R-rated horror genre with a bang and our first major project is to create a realistic series of films following the lives of vicious serial killers as they carry out there terrifying mission to exterminate all those who do not conform to their extremist views."
In order to complete production of the movie, DeadEye Pictures UK will need to gather the funds required to cover costs and expenses. They are currently holding a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo /2517273 in order to accomplish this goal. According to the Brown brothers, funds will be used to pay for props, renting and leasing of filming locations, hiring actors, various materials used to create the gore and prosthetics as well as travel costs. Right now they are looking to raise approximately £8,000. If additional funds are raised, they will be used for increased special effects. Contributors will be rewarded with perks including producer credits and advertisements in the film.
