Uh, I may be a newbie on this board, but I am quite well-versed with the fan film world. And you, my friend, are VIOLATING the copyright for Halloween held by MGM by offering this film for sale on DVD.

Wrong.
The film is being sold AT COST,there is no profit being made. True,we are using the title "Halloween" but with the Akkad's knowledge (They have the film as well).
They could care less. Dimenson is the one to worry about .If THEY cared, they would sue the Producer of the "Halloween 6 Producer's cut" DVD that's going around(With all the extras,etc). After all,THAT'S footage that they directly OWN.

I'd expect you will eventually get a 'cease and desist' from their lawyers. You stop selling the dvd and it goes no further.
It's not really worth their while to take amateur filmmakers to court, but they definitely will protect their property.
Otherwise you would be able to legally claim ownership of the title in a few years down the line.
