IndieTrailers.com went live in August of 2003. Founded by webmaster Andrew Day and founder of Crazed Weasel Entertainment Brendan Millet, IndieTrailers.com was envisioned as being a tool for the greater exposure of microcinema.
What is microcinema? Microcinema refers to both feature-length and short films made outside the studio system on very little or no money. Many of today's so-called "independent" films have millions of dolloars in their budget. Microcinema films are made by groups of dedicated individuals who are often operating on miniscule funds and a volunteer cast and crew. There are many, many microcinema studios out there, most run by people with regular nine-to-five jobs, who are making entertaining and thought-provoking films with very little resources.
We at IndieTrailers.com are committed to helping these filmmakers reach as broad an audience as possible and get their hard work noticed. Microcinema can be a great alternative to the cookie-cutter, big budget cash cows put out by the Hollywood machine.
We are currently hosting trailers for full-length feature films, short films, and fan films. Fan films are films based on established film franchises (i.e. 'Star Wars', 'The Matrix', 'Halloween', etc.) and are most often non-profit due to legal constraints.
With each trailer is also a link to the film studio's web site. Please take some time, check out the trailers, and support these unique filmmakers. If you yourself are a microcinema filmmaker, please see our submission guidlines and contact us about adding your trailer to our site!
