Hey guys and gals, we've just released our first low budget feature 'Asylum Night' on DVD, so we thought we'd pop along here and tell you all about it... ( apologies for the kids TV style intro, its late and im feeling nostalgic)
The film follows undercover reporter Ellen Cole as she ventures into St Mariahs Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Whilst the staff Christmas party is in full swing, Ellen discovers that the head doctor has been using his patients to feed a pack of vampires he keeps captive in the basement. The evil Doctor Leonard is using vampires in his experiments to find the key to immortality.
Unfortunately for him and the other party guests a series of events sees not only the release of the insane inmates but also the vampires manage to escape and find the party as well.
Its the Christmas bash to end them all!
The film was shot on an ultra low budget in the darkest depths of a place called Essex in the UK. I had the joy of co-producing the film. Not that i know what a co-producer actually does but on this movie it seemed to be a combination of 1st AD, set builder, actor, runner, caterer, cleaner, blood maker and official wall holder amongst other things. It was one of those films where the make up artist built sets and the director mixed up fake poo out of Smash and coffee. Anyway you get the picture.
We're self distributing the DVD in the UK and you can buy it from www.filmnight.com and watch the trailer at www.revoltfilms.co.uk . It'll be in the retail and rental shops in the coming weeks.
We also managed to get it played on The Horror Channel on Sky Digital and they came and interviewed the cast and crew for their Cutting Room programme. If any of you guys want to get your movies shown on UK television you should contact the guys at The Horror Channel, they've been awesome with helping us get our movie out there.
Holy sh*t, this is one long post, my sincere apologies! Anyway, hope you get a chance to check out the trailer and i'd love to hear what you guys think and if you've got any advice for how we can let more people know about our movie.
