The film is also showing with a short film called "Entertaining Countess Dracula", by an Australian film maker. Heres the press blurb I got about it:
ENTERTAINING COUNTESS DRACULA
(Australia) 2004, b/w, 30 mins.
Dir. Nathan Godkin
In 1610, the infamous "Blood Countess" of Transylvania was accused of
unspeakable acts of torture and depravity. Hundreds of corpses were
recovered from her castles in Western Hungary, used as evidence of
bloodthirst and becoming the stuff of sensational legend. Was she
really a bloodbathing monster, or was she the victim of sinister
political scheming? "Entertaining Countess Dracula" puts contemporary
Melbourne gypsy trio Vardos into 17th Century Hungary to tell the tale
from a brand new perspective.
This is an historical and feminist fable told through music, comedy and
horror. Underlying the blood and slapstick is the contemporary theme of
patriarchal oppression. "Entertaining Countess Dracula" highlights the
absurdity of furious power struggles against the feminine, created out
of paranoia to perpetuate the male domination of traditional - and
outdated - government systems.
In the tradition of the silent era, directed by short film-maker Nathan
Godkin, with a breathtaking musical score by Vardos, "Entertaining
Countess Dracula" tells a daringly bloody and anachronistically comical
tale of the woman behind the myth of the first female vampire.
