Edgar Allen Poe.......I've even been to his house which is now a museum. Anyone who TRULY wants the hair on their neck to stand on end should go visit his place and go on the tour of his basement, as well as the room he supposedly wrote his stuff.

Lovecraft is my all time fave horror writer. Barker is cool. Clegg. Bloch. Giaman but mainly for his work in comics. I think Bradbury's horror stories from October Country are great. James. When I used to work in the small press there was alot of hype going around about michael Blumien, good writer I don't know how well he is known though. I think horror in lit works best in short form and that's why HPL and Poe and guys like that have been successful short story writers while their attempts at writing novels didn't work out. With that in mind, I love all the Charles L. Grant Shadow series that I have. Favorite writer in any genre or medium: Alan Moore.
