We shot on Hi8, I believe it was a Sony DCR-TRV280 but I'm not sure. I actually had to transfer it over to mini-DV though. Truthfully, I don't care what I shoot on, so long as I'm shooting, hopefully the movie will be good enough to overcome whatever limitations. I just grab cameras and get going. Lighting is always a pain, it sounds funny but our main source of lighting for outside shots were car headlights, but you can buy powerful spotlights on the cheap for about 30 bucks. I'm finicky about lighting though, I like to keep things dark and shadowy. Not only does it help hide the seams in your effects but it can keep the audience on their toes. That's just me though. For the next flick we're doing a lot of outside shooting, so I bought a ton of spotlights so we'd be ready. I'm a very VERY low-budget filmmaker...I like to say I'm a no budget filmmaker, budget implies you have a fixed about to spend....I have nothing
