Hey everyone, we here at Ransom Pictures have just begun pre-production on our next movie, HEALTH FREAKS! For three janitors working at Health and Fitness Plus, things are about to get a little messy. When Sammy Rocanter brings his new, sugar free energy drink to the fitness center, it's obvious that the drink still has a few kinks in it. Bodies are mutating, weightlifting is becoming a little more violent, and the club members are beginning to turn into blood craving, psychotic freaks, not to mention the abnormal snarling coming from the boiler room! Joe, Alex, and Ray aren't heroes, but they're going to have to be more than janitors if they want to survive this insane bloodbath of mutants, mayhem, and Jehovah Witnesses! We held the first set of auditions today for HEALTH FREAKS and it went great! I can tell you that we have some real acting talent in this one. We are also in final talks with the local fitness center on being allowed to film there, they are going to try to get us 6 to 8 hour shooting nights! We also have a special effects guy on board, and are working on getting equipment together.
Things are going great, and we are hoping to begin shooting sometime in June and lasting for about a month.

The film sounds great... really original, and that's something that's hard to find in movies nowadays. But what about Domesticating Max?

Thank you! It should be a fun project.
As for Domesticating Max it is almost 100% complete. The only thing that stands in my way is getting this d**n music into the movie. I know what I have to do, but the program isn't letting me. I called the company yesterday and you know what they say? They recommend that I re-install the entire program. But I am working hard on it, and hopefully it'll be done shortly.
We're holding another set of auditions this weekend in the Twin Cities so I'll keep you guys updated!

We just finished up the last negotiations with the manager of the local fitness center and it's pretty much official, we've been given permission to shoot from midnight to 6:00 AM for as long as we need to for Health Freaks! We are getting the entire building for an amazingly low price, not even close to half of the film's budget. I'll have some pictures of the location up on the site hopefully tomorrow.

Casting for Health Freaks has gone great, and if you head over to the site you can check out the current cast listing for the movie. There's some real talent behind this one, I can definitely tell you that. Unfortunately I won't be able to post any location pictures because the fitness center is currently going under some construction. But that should be finished up shortly and then I'll be able to take some pics and post them online.
I'll keep you updated!

Today I've added the first pics from pre-production for Health Freaks! There's not a whole lot to see, but I do have an exterior shot of the main set for the movie. So check it out, more pics will be added as pre-production rolls on!

Hey everyone!
Well pre-production is moving along very quickly, and we are set to begin shooting June 14th! We did some special effects testing today, and it's looking great. This is going to be a huge undertaking, but the final product is going to be something else! If you're a fan of stuff that people label as tasteless, immature, and simply the object that is corrupting our society, then you're in for a treat!

Glad to hear it! Also glad that we have...count 'em...ONE person on the forums excited about the flick!
Our schedules are going to be getting a bit fucked up this week as we shoot from midnight to 6:00 AM during the off hours at the fitness center. It'll be interesting that's for sure. Can't wait! Shooting starts in less than 24 hours!

Well the first two days of shooting went great! Got some good stuff in the can, and the effects scene we shot was amazing! The third day of shooting...well...not so much. Our lead actor's parents were in a car crash a state away so obviously he had to be with them. Very unfortunate, and we hope that his parents are getting along fine. For tonight's shoot we've encountered another roadblock...our actress who was scheduled to be here is stranded in Florida! That does give us much more time to focus on the gore scene scheduled for tonight, however it still sucks because we'll have to cram more scenes into our second week of shooting at the fitness center (we have three locations, and are only allowed two weeks at the actual fitness center).
I should have production photos up on the site in the morning!

We kind of messed up the fitness center's bathroom with fake blood...badly. I mean we literally drenched it with blood. Took us 90 minutes to clean it all up and when the night janitor said it looked good we left. That day I got a call from the manager saying she had two guys scrubbing in there for 5 hours...Hmm, seems strange. Now I have to meet with her on Monday to "rethink" everything. Luckily, this is the last gore scene that NEEDED to be shot at this location, but this little dent definitely won't make me take out all the blood and guts in the script. -Jack |
