Someone please explain to me how Brian Yuzna can keep making movies?! Oh... Overseas markets... I get it. Actually, I happen to be watching "The Guyver" as I'm writing this. It has to be one of his worst movies that I've seen, ranking right up there with "Society." I really do admire the guy for his drive, but his films seem to have the dumbest dialogue and his endings are usually a bit cheesy for me. I liked the "Re-Animator" series okay, but didn't think it to be too special. " Dagon" was probably my favorite, just because it was so strange - a compilation of Lovecraft tales crunched together into one story (although the script was still lame). Plus, the evil mermaid girl was very watchable. But even though "Guyver" has virtually the same cast as "Re-Animator" + Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), I can't find a redeeming quality. Any Yuzna fans out there want to explain the appeal of any of his movies? I hear the Germans really love them...

So, are there no fans of Re-Animator, Bride of Re-Animator, Dagon, Society, Faust: Love of the d**ned, Guyver, etc.? This IS a low-budget horror messageboard isn't it? I'd just like to hear from a fan what s/he finds attractive about Mr. Yuzna's productions. I've listened to his comments on DVD commentary tracks, and he seems like a nice guy - and a successful guy - but his movies have to be some of the worst when it comes to story. Anyone disagree?

Brian Yuzna is a very talented director and if you had seen Return of the Living Dead 3 you would not doubt his skill. But as for Guyver, he only Produced the film it was directed by the great Steve Wang who also directed Guyver 2 one of the best films ever made and Drive with Mark Dacascos which ROCKS! I admit that Guyver is abit cheesy, but it still is enjoyable and as for Society that is a very unique and inventive film even with Billy Warlock in the lead. So there. ;D

Drive? I remember that movie for only two things, one being the 'rocket launcher' made from plastic drainage pipes, and the other being the fact that they wreck a perfectly good Dodge Challenger. Bah!
